UPDATED 8.17.2009 Summer has come to an end with school starting in just one week. Summer trips included visiting Grandma and
Grandpa in Corpus, going to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, visiting Bob-Bob and GranJan in Montgomery, and the kids going to
a 4-night camp through our church. Other summer fun included sleepovers with Papa and Nana, visits with Aunt Ruth, several
visits with Aunt Mary and our cousins, and lots of swimming. We had the usual assortment of bug bites, bumps, scrapes and bruises - and even one head-gluing (Sarah
took an accidental whack to the head by Zachary with a golf club) - but nothing too serious overall. Fall activities will start soon - Awana for all four,
cheerleading for the girls, and baseball for the boys. Who knows what else, but I'm sure we'll be busy! The crew turned 8 on August 1st and will start 2nd grade
next week ... and the parents are feeling older and older! I have to tell you about the first picture below.
The kids were sitting on the floor during a photo shoot, with Jacob in the front. Being the clown that he is, he thought
it would be fun to lean back and knock the other 3 to the ground. The photo is a candid shot taken after they sat up
with the other 3 scowling at Jacob. Can't you just see him saying "What?!" with that "who, me?"
